This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Manassas, VA for an Associate Project Manager. As an Associate Project Manager at SGI, you will play a key role in supporting renewable energy and electrical construction projects by coordinating activities between Project and Construction Managers. You will assist with document control, reporting, and project tracking while gaining hands-on exposure to project schedules, costs, and field operations to help ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved.
Key Responsibilities- Manage document control in Procore, including submittals, RFIs, daily log uploads with PM and CM input.
- Assist with drafting project reports, scopes of work and change orders with input from PM and CMs.
- Maintain organized project files and logs across Procore, SharePoint, and internal systems.
- Assist PMs with estimating takeoffs and budgets.
- Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to support project execution and assist with project scheduling.
- Participate in occasional site visits to gain field exposure and project familiarity.
- Support compliance-related documentation and permitting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project controls, reporting, and documentation processes.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related subject;
Or equivalent experience in a project coordination, construction administration, or similar role - Strong interest in renewable energy and/or electrical systems
- Eagerness to learn new project management software and systems, read electrical and construction drawings (prior exposure preferred but not required);
Experience with Procore is a plus - Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and PDF editors (markups, edits, document organization)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with field teams and project leadership
