Test & Evaluation Engineering Support Specialist (CWL)
Location: Manassas, VA (On-Site)
Compensation: $36.00 – $40.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
POSITION SUMMARYCPI is seeking a Test & Evaluation Engineering Support Specialist to support development, integration, testing, and sustainment of submarine weapon launch and combat system technologies within laboratory and shipboard environments.
This position supports Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) and related tactical systems across domestic and international programs. The selected candidate will work in a fast-paced, integrated engineering environment alongside government laboratories, production teams, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or related technical field
OR equivalent combination of education and experience (4 years job-related experience in lieu of degree)
Minimum of 2+ years of related experience
OR Master’s degree in applicable discipline
Experience with one or more of the following systems:
AN/BLQ-10
AN/BYG-1
AN/BQQ-10
Submarine Weapon Launchers
Experience supporting test engineering, verification, validation, or system integration activities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to lift up to 45 lbs
Develop and execute comprehensive test procedures
Collaborate with engineering teams to conduct integration and system testing
Define, document, analyze, and interpret test results
Identify functional deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
Support verification and validation of hardware, firmware, and software changes
Perform tactical system installations, rip-outs, testing, and validation
Configure laboratory environments per drawings and port maps
Support formal and informal customer test events
Document software, firmware, and hardware defects and support troubleshooting efforts
Provide technical reporting and progress updates
Support logistics team with development of installation and operational procedures
Software testing and analysis
Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
Knowledge of system processes and scripting languages
Experience using electrical measurement tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters)
General knowledge of network configuration and operations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Fully on-site in Manassas, VA
Intermittent travel required:
Government and partner laboratories
Domestic and international shipboard installations
Submarine home ports
Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire.
Candidates must be eligible for access to classified information.
