Clearance requirements: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within our facilities.
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master’s degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
What you will do: As an Advanced Systems Engineer, Cabinets, you’ll be part of a small cross-functional team responsible for requirements analysis, trade studies, and system/electrical/mechanical design of new and future transmit electronic equipment. The design team will ensure the equipment meets all functional requirements and performance characteristics and supports completion of program design milestones. You will collaborate with design engineering, production engineering, subject matter experts and others to develop a high-power electronic amplifier system and meet customer expectations.
Candidates should have demonstrated recent, relevant technical contribution to acoustic systems and show the ability to mentor others.
Preferred skills or experiences:
- Acoustic systems for submarines and/or submersibles
- Acoustic transducers or projector applications
- Inboard or outboard electronics
- Power/analog hardware and systems
Responsibilities and duties:
- Performs research trade studies analyses of data in support of customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility
- Performs Modeling and Simulation activities to develop solutions that meet customer expectations and technical performance
- Leads concept design activities through development and into production
- Evaluates components to determine performance impacts to existing designs
- Creates and reviews system and hardware design documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Performs detailed technical analyses for a system including concept, requirements, platform integration, design and life cycle maintenance
- Performs requirements analysis, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies and interface definition studies
- Performs technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for system elements
- Performs customer requirements analysis, develops system requirements and defines allocations to lower levels
- Contributes to generation and maintenance of system engineering work products
- Contributes to technical design and trade studies documents in support of proposals and customer presentations
