The Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Lead serves as a key instructional leader within the school division, focusing on the effective implementation and enhancement of the adopted SEL curriculum across all schools. Reporting to the Supervisor of Student Services, the SEL Lead will promote a positive school culture by fostering students' social and emotional development, supporting educators in integrating SEL practices, and engaging families and community partners.
The ideal candidate is passionate about student growth, equity, and creating supportive learning environments that align with Manassas Park City Schools’ strategic plan.
Skills:
- Minimum of two years as a school counselor preferred.
- Proficiency in data analysis and using tools to track program effectiveness.
- Ability to facilitate professional learning.
- Understanding of SEL frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills for event planning and multi-school coordination.
Responsibilities and Duties:
(including but not limited to the following)
- Monitor and ensure the adopted SEL curriculum is implemented with fidelity across schools through coordinated classroom observations, program audits, and feedback collection.
- Collect, analyze, and report on SEL-related data, such as student surveys and program outcomes, to measure impact and inform continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with school leadership teams to embed SEL into school-wide practices and activities.
- Communicate and coordinate with the curricular partners to provide targeted professional learning to teachers to promote consistent, high-quality program delivery.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement at least one division-wide SEL-focused community event in collaboration with families, community partners, and other stakeholders.
- Provides support for other tasks or projects related to SEL programming as assigned.
