The University of Virginia Health System (UVA Health) is seeking a fellowship-trained Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiologist to join our Community Division
. This position offers the opportunity to practice the full spectrum of musculoskeletal imaging in a collegial, supportive environment serving Prince William Hospital, Haymarket Medical Center, Culpeper Hospital
, Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center and Gainesville Outpatient Imaging Center
. The role combines the advantages of a dynamic community-based practice with the academic connection and resources of a nationally recognized university health system.
The successful candidate will devote approximately 90-95% effort to clinical service and 5-10% to administrative and service activities
, with flexibility to adapt as the division evolves.
- Interpret a comprehensive range of musculoskeletal imaging studies, including MRI, CT, ultrasound, and radiography of the extremities, joints, spine, and pelvis.
- Perform and interpret image-guided musculoskeletal procedures
, such as joint injections, aspirations, and biopsies
, as appropriate. - Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences (e.g., orthopedic oncology, sports medicine, rheumatology) and provide consultative expertise for referring physicians and technical staff.
- Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine specialists, rheumatologists, oncologists, and primary care providers to ensure the highest-value use of imaging studies.
- Share in the division's clinical schedule and call responsibilities
, with occasional coverage at the Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center.
- Contribute to divisional quality improvement, workflow optimization, and patient safety initiatives
. - Participate in peer review, protocol development
, and marketing/recruitment efforts
. - Work collaboratively with technologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure high-quality imaging protocols and timely service.
- Support a culture of collegiality, inclusivity, and respect across the Division and UVA Health.
- Help advance the professional reputation of UVA Radiology in the communities we serve.
- M.D. or D.O. degree
; board certified/eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
. - Fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Radiology
. - Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia
