Join Our Team as an Assistant Manager in the Meat/Seafood Department!
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Manager to lead and supervise a team of up to 15 associates in our vibrant Meat/Seafood Department. In this key role, you will assist the Meat/Seafood Manager in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this essential department.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in managing and supervising daily operations of the Meat/Seafood Department.
- Support recruitment, training, and development of team members.
- Help plan, assign, and direct work to ensure optimal customer service and sales.
- Participate in performance appraisals and handle disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Proactively address customer complaints and resolve issues effectively.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for customer satisfaction.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A high school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and communication in one‑on‑one and group settings.
- Computer skills, including HT Internet software, email, inventory software, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Basic mathematical abilities, including operations with American currency and measurements.
- Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to follow detailed instructions and address problems in standardized situations.
This position requires the following physical demands:
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands for handling items, reach with arms, and communicate verbally.
- Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities, including close vision and color/distance perception.
You will work in a cool environment with an average temperature range of 34-36 degrees Fahrenheit. Expect exposure to wet, humid conditions and moving mechanical parts, and occasional contact with fumes or airborne particles. The noise level can be moderate to loud.
