Position Description
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory of medical equipment. This role oversees inventory control activities to ensure proper tracking, storage, and availability of materials while supporting shipping and receiving functions as needed. Duties include, but are not limited to: inspecting and verifying medical equipment and components; maintaining accurate inventory records; tracking inventory movement and ownership status;
labeling, organizing, and storing materials to support efficient retrieval; performing inventory counts and reconciliation; and documenting inventory transactions.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records for medical equipment and related components.
- Perform inventory control activities including receiving, labeling, organizing, storing, and tracking materials to ensure efficient retrieval and availability.
- Track inventory movement, usage, and ownership status to maintain accurate asset accountability.
- Conduct routine inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Document all inventory transactions accurately within inventory management systems and required logs.
- Support shipping and receiving operations, including preparing materials for shipment, verifying shipping documentation, and coordinating outbound and inbound deliveries as needed.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of medical equipment in accordance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Documenting inventory and quality transactions in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
- Maintain organized storage areas to support operational efficiency and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely availability of inventory and support operational needs.
- Expand knowledge of proper packing materials and methods to ensure that materials and products are secure during shipping and arrive damage-free at their destination.
- Assist in part orders for both internal and external use including confirming stock, responding to requests and ensuring orders are fulfilled.
- Pull part order requests from stock or systems as required.
- Continually improve processes and workflow.
- Adhere to the Company's Quality System standards and procedures and ensure that customer requirements are met.
- Participate on an on-call rotation schedule, including weekends.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
Some college desired.
- 3+ years Inventory Control experience.
- Experience in shipping/receiving and transportation.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, quality, and logistics teams.
- Experience performing cycle counts, physical inventories, and resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Organizing storage areas to ensure efficient retrieval and safe handling of materials.
- Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in the packing and shipment of medical devices.
- Demonstrated experience in carrier selection and utilization of carrier shipping software (e.g., Fed Ex and DHL).
- Valid and active driver's license.
- Must have reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance.
- Willing and able to undertake after-hours travel to carrier offices, drop-boxes, and airports.
- High mechanical aptitude and experience with using various tools properly.
- Proficient in basic MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written English language and communication skills with internal and external customers; understands the importance of delivering messages in a professional and responsive manner.

- Able to lift up to 75 pounds regularly throughout the day.
- Able to lift up to 100 pounds on occasion.
- Able to stoop, sit, stand, bend, crouch and climb.
- Able to operate a forklift or to be certified to operate a forklift within 8 weeks of hire.
- Able to work in a regulated medical environment and warehouse conditions.
