Senior Engineer - Electrical

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Senior Engineer for our Electrical department in Wall, NJ.

• Lead the design and development of building electrical systems, including:
• Power distribution systems
• Interior and exterior lighting systems
• Emergency and standby power systems
• Fire alarm and life safety systems
• Low-voltage and special systems
• Prepare and review construction drawings, specifications, load calculations, and engineering reports
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, including NEC and local jurisdictional requirements
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, civil, and architectural disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets
• Interface directly with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, and attend project meetings
• Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and support construction administration activities
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staff
• Perform quality control reviews to maintain firm standards

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or ability to obtain)
• Minimum of 8–10+ years of experience in building electrical systems design
• Strong knowledge of NEC and relevant building codes
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit (MEP experience preferred)
• Experience performing electrical load calculations and system sizing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Experience coordinating within a multi-disciplinary engineering firm preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
