Painter

To carry out operations & maintenance activities - whether inspections, preventive, corrective or repair works as per the set standards and procedures for the concerned assets within the premises to ensure their timely availability, reliability, safety, and efficiency.

• Monitor the physical condition of personal and common tools and equipment relevant to the job and maintain them as per the set standards, ensuring they are in good condition.
• Ensure regular updating of pertinent records, files, and documents that reflect carried out work, pending work, requests, etc. in order to simplify work progress tracking and allow the Group Leader / Supervisor to have a complete overview of the status of maintenance work.
• Monitor the inventory levels of materials needed for maintenance work while coordinating that with the Storekeeper, and inform the Group Leader / Supervisor once replenishment points are reached in order to maintain the required levels of material inventory.
• Conduct routine check tours to ensure that the assets / machines / equipment requiring calibration are functioning correctly, and perform routine and emergency calibration tasks as needed.
• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Contribute to the Group Leader / Supervisor in the preparation of timely and accurate information to be reported and meet department and clients’ requirements, policies, and standards.
• Ensure all relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of services, and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
• Comply with / support the company asset management strategy applicable for its contract.
• Carry out inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance activities according to the defined schedules and methods to guarantee the provision of a timely service to customers.
• React to any complaints or emergencies promptly and as directed by the Group Leader / Supervisor so as to provide the necessary corrective maintenance measures and resolve customers’ problems.
• Monitor the running conditions of various assets within the scope of work, check their operational efficiency, ensure that their functionality complies with standards, and take the necessary preventive measures if any problems are detected.
• Respond in a professional and workman like manner to all painting and associated reactive works including the repair of all types of surfaces.
• Paint surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or rollers.
• Apply paint to simulate wood grain, marble, brick, or stonework.
• Cut stencils and utilise brushes and spray painting to achieve lettering and/or decorations on surfaces.
• Sand surfaces between coats and polishes final coat to specified finish.
• Wash and treat surfaces with oil, turpentine, mildew remover, or other preparations.
• Mix and match colors of paint, stain or varnish.
• Fill cracks, holes and joints with caulk putty plaster or other filler materials.
• Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisor and/or other team members.
• Erect scaffold or ladders to work above ground level.
• Report to your team supervisor on a regular basis regarding workload, quality workmanship and key issues.
• Develop an extensive understanding of the methods of work associated with the painting of the building and give advice on enhancing the performance of the building surfaces.
• Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

• Diploma or a 2 year Industrial Training Course in the relevant field
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in maintenance work in the relevant field
• Proficiency in English language; coordination skills, numerical skills, understanding and following SOPs/ work instructions, communication skills, knowledge in health & safety standards; job specific skills in the relevant field
