The QC Inspector is a dedicated field position responsible for conducting physical inspections and tests to verify that all materials, workmanship, and construction activities strictly comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The primary goal is to ensure project quality is upheld at every stage of execution, identifying and reporting any deficiencies immediately.

Core

Duties & Responsibilities (Briefs)

Field Inspection: Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc physical inspections of ongoing construction activities (e.g., concrete pouring, rebar placement, welding, finishing works).

Material Verification: Inspect all incoming materials and equipment deliveries to the site, verifying quantities, compliance with specifications, and checking for proper certifications.

Documentation: Complete and maintain daily, accurate QC reports, inspection checklists, and test records for all phases of work.

Witness Testing: Witness and verify field and laboratory testing procedures (e.g., concrete cube tests, compaction tests) as required by the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).

Deficiency Reporting: Identify and tag non-conforming work or materials and assist the QA/QC Engineer in the preparation of Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs).

Liaison: Coordinate directly with the site engineers, foremen, and third-party inspectors to facilitate efficient inspection processes and resolve minor quality issues.

Requirements

Experience: Practical experience in a Quality Control role, typically requiring 3 to 5 years of experience in the construction or relevant engineering sector.

Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and accurately interpret engineering blueprints, specifications, and project standards.

Inspection

Skills:

Strong practical knowledge of construction methods (e.g., civil, structural, MEP) and material quality requirements.

Documentation: Meticulous approach to record-keeping and completing inspection logs accurately.

Communication: Effective communication skills to clearly convey inspection results and necessary corrections to site teams.

Certifications: Relevant trade certification or basic quality control training is highly preferred.
