Information Technology Specialist
The Information Technology (IT) Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, support, and security of an organization's computer systems, networks, and technical infrastructure. This role involves a mix of hands-on technical support and strategic system management. The IT Specialist ensures all technological resources operate efficiently and securely, providing essential support to end-users and contributing to the overall stability and performance of the company's IT environment.
- System and Network Management: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Technical Support: Serve as the first point of contact for technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues via phone, email, or in-person.
- Security & Data Management: Implement and monitor security measures, including anti-virus software and firewalls, to protect data and infrastructure. Conduct regular data backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place.
- User Account Management: Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, network configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Hardware and Software Procurement: Assist in the research, purchase, and deployment of new hardware and software.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in an IT support or technical specialist role.
In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Experience with various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) and virtual environments.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) are highly preferred.
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills for troubleshooting technical issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
