Base pay range$22.11/hr - $31.49/hr
The BH Patient Access Representative is responsible for professional and efficient operation of the admission process and can work independently in one or more patient access areas. Performs a variety of patient access functions related to patient check-in and check-out including appointment scheduling, insurance verification. Demonstrates a basic understanding of the revenue cycle.
This position works closely with patients and must provide excellent customer service. Working as a member of the behavioral health team to extend the services of the behavioral health provider and assist in managing patient flow related to Behavioral Health.
What You’ll Do- Greets all patients in a courteous and timely manner.
- Answers multi-line telephone; takes clear, detailed, and legible messages and transfers calls to the appropriate department when necessary. May operate the switchboard for answering and transferring telephone calls, routine inquiries.
- Schedules patient appointments using a computerized scheduling system.
- Verifies that patient demographic and insurance information is current and correct and that required forms are completed and signed.
- Monitoring and scheduling of patients for BH referrals.
- Enters and/or updates patient information in computerized hospital information systems.
- Assembles patient charts for use; ensuring that the proper forms are on the chart according to particular visit type.
- Accurately creates tasks in EHR according to clinic protocols and works both Tasks lists and Work lists.

- Strong customer service skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred.
- One year experience as a Receptionist preferred.
- Good telephone etiquette.
- Computer skills required.
- Previous use of multi-line phones, fax, and copy machine preferred.
- Full-time, day shifts.
- Starting wage $22.11 to $26.80 based on qualifications over requirements.
