Medical Assistant
The Medical Assistant is part of a team concept for the delivery of patient care in the ambulatory clinic setting with an emphasis on disease prevention and health maintenance. This individual will work closely with the clinical staff, front desk personnel and other related departments. MAs assist in caring for the sick, injured & healthy individuals, from a variety of ages ranging from newborn to 18 years, under the direction of physicians and Registered Nurses.
MAs should have a caring, sympathetic nature and the ability to relate to the public regardless of ethnic, religious or economic status. They also should have keen observational, and communication skills. As part of a health care team, they must be able to follow directions and work under close supervision.
- Anticipates the needs of the clinician and carries out orders.
- Checks Electronic Health Record (EHR) for patients' arrival status and escorts patients from waiting area to exam room.
- Assists clinician with procedures.
- Assists with the completion of appropriate forms (school physicals, developmental screenings, etc.)
- Cleans and stocks exam rooms, treatment/procedure rooms, specimen processing areas, and nursing stations.
- Performs medication administration within scope of practice and documents administration of medications and procedures in EHR.
- Maintains immunization records and updates EHR.

- Excellent communication skills
- Certified Medical Assistant required.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required.
- IV Certification (LVN) required.
- One year experience as an MA preferred.
- Full-time, day shifts (Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5 pm)
- Starting wage $24.66 to $29.89 based on qualifications.
