Overview
The Perioperative Environmental Services Technician is responsible for setting the daily priorities within the department under direct supervision from the O.R. Manager, Supervisor, RN, Certified Surgical Technician, or Central Services Technician. Performs a variety of routine cleaning tasks to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the Operating Room. Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks in maintaining patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, or other assigned areas in the Operating Room/Perioperative area in a sanitary and attractive condition.
Responsibilities- Ability to properly use tools and devices necessary to clean.
- Performs terminal cleans as set up by supervisors, follows policy.
- Understands how to properly use cleaning agents and compounds. Reviews the Material Safety Data sheets annually and as needed.
- Demonstrates competency in sterile techniques, infection control, and uses Standard Precaution.
- Decontaminates OR after procedure and sets room up for next case.
- Routinely checks department to have contaminated trash removed by calling the housekeeping department.

- Starting wage $20.68 to $25.07 based on qualifications.
