Overview
Healthy Connections is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations at our Malvern location. This role is essential to the daily workflow of the pharmacy and provides direct support to licensed pharmacists in the procurement, processing, preparation, and delivery of medications and supplies. Pharmacy Technicians also serve as an important point of contact for patients, assisting with prescription coordination, insurance navigation, and medication access.
This is a patient-facing role in an active pharmacy environment that requires strong organization, attention to detail, and clear communication. Pharmacy Technicians work closely with pharmacists, providers, insurance partners, and patients to ensure accurate processing, regulatory compliance, and high levels of patient satisfaction. Complete training is provided, and prior pharmacy or healthcare experience is strongly preferred. Schedule flexibility is available, with opportunities for full-time, part-time, or PRN staffing to support pharmacy needs.

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Relations
- Serve as a liaison between patients, pharmacists, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
- Assist patients in accessing medications, supplies, and pharmacy-related benefits.
- Identify and accommodate patient communication needs related to hearing, vision, cognition, or cultural preferences.
- Maintain professional, courteous interactions while protecting patient confidentiality.
- Provide clinic and community-based resource information as appropriate.
- Encourage positive patient experiences and satisfaction.
Pharmacy Operations
- Process prescription requests, including answering phone calls, monitoring voicemails, and returning messages in accordance with policy.
- Enter prescription orders into the electronic pharmacy system and prepare medications for pharmacist review.
- Assist with insurance verification, pharmacy benefit management, and prior authorizations.
- Monitor medication inventory and ensure adequate stock levels.
- Identify expired medications and coordinate processing through the pharmacy reverse distributor.
- Process prescription pickups, payments, and required financial reports.
- Prepare bank deposits and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Transport medications to clinics or patient homes as required.
Team & Compliance Support
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Follow HIPAA, safety, and infection control policies at all times.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and pharmacy-related training.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy environment.
- Support corporate compliance policies and report concerns as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Arkansas Pharmacy Technician license required.
- CPR certification required.
- Bilingual (Spanish) skills preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and electronic pharmacy systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Strong organizational, written, and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and problem-solve independently.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of current automobile liability insurance.
- Willingness to travel to other locations or meetings as needed.
