Bryant Group is partnering with Pepperdine University in the search for a strategic and relationship driven advancement leader to serve as Vice Chancellor for Development for the Graziadio Business School. Reporting to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Development and working in close collaboration with the Dean of the Graziadio Business School, this senior leadership role is responsible for advancing the school’s philanthropic strategy and strengthening alumni and donor engagement in support of Graziadio’s mission and long term priorities.

The Vice Chancellor for Development will lead comprehensive fundraising efforts for the Graziadio Business School, cultivating and stewarding relationships with major and principal level donors. Partnering closely with the Dean, advancement colleagues and the Graziadio Board of Advisors, this leader will provide strategic direction for development initiatives aligned with institutional goals, securing resources that support academic excellence, facilities and programs while fostering enduring alumni relationships and donor loyalty through thoughtful, relationship-centered engagement and exceptional stewardship.

This role combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership, offering the opportunity to advance a nationally recognized, values-centered business school that develops purpose-driven leaders with global impact. The ideal candidate is a seasoned fundraising professional with at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in major gift fundraising and a proven record of closing six- and seven-figure gifts. They bring exceptional communication, relationship building and leadership skills, along with the sophistication and discretion required to engage high net worth donors.

A bachelor’s degree is required, with an advanced degree and experience in higher education fundraising preferred.

This leader must embody Pepperdine University’s mission of purpose, service and leadership while inspiring generosity and building meaningful, lasting donor relationships.

California’s Pay Transparency Act (SB 1162) requires employers with 15 or more employees to include a pay scale for job postings, including internal and external postings and job postings through third parties. The salary range of $178,500 - $210,000 reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
