As a Senior Tax Manager / Principal
, you will play a critical role in supporting our next phase of growth. This is a senior leadership position offering exposure to a broad client base, complex tax matters, and the opportunity to mentor and develop staff within a public practice environment.
- Prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local tax filings, including annual returns, extensions, and informational returns
- Review tax returns for individuals and entities (Forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, and 1120S) for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and consolidate tax provision schedules and related work papers
- Research and recommend tax strategies relating to federal, state, and local taxation matters
- Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory changes, implementing updates as required
- Prepare and record book-to-tax adjusting entries
- Act as a key liaison with clients and external vendors
- Maintain compliance by coordinating filings with relevant tax authorities
- Identify tax efficiencies and profitability considerations for mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings
- Coordinate and maintain accurate records for both firm and client engagements
- Ensure confidentiality and adherence to professional and legal standards
- Review work prepared by staff and provide guidance on tax returns and supporting documentation
- Provide regular feedback and coaching to direct reports
- Ensure consistency in workpaper formatting, naming conventions, and documentation standards
- Develop, streamline, and improve tax procedures, templates, and internal workflows
- Support firm-wide initiatives and collaborate with affiliates and other departments
- Stay current through continuing education, professional publications, and industry involvement
- Participate in professional organizations and maintain strong industry networks
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- Active CPA required (EA also considered)
- 8+ years of experience in tax compliance and review within public accounting
- Strong experience with Thomson Reuters tax software
, including:- Ultra Tax
- Work papers CS
- Sure Prep
- Safe Send
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Confident communicator with leadership presence and client-facing experience
Qualifications
About You- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- Active CPA required (EA also considered)
- 8+ years of experience in tax compliance and review within public accounting
- Strong experience with Thomson Reuters tax software
