Waste and Recycling Officer – Essex

Buckingham Futures is partnering with a Local Authority in Essex to recruit a Waste and Recycling Officer. This permanent role is ideal for someone passionate about sustainability and improving community services.

• Oversee day-to-day waste collection and recycling operations
• Investigate complaints such as missed collections or fly-tipping
• Ensure compliance with waste management legislation and environmental standards
• Promote recycling and sustainability initiatives in the community
• Work closely with contractors, internal teams, and residents to improve service delivery
• Contribute to service improvement, reporting, and monitoring

• Knowledge of waste management, recycling, and environmental regulations
• Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
• Enthusiasm for sustainability and community engagement
