Overview:
The Forklift – Truck loader will have experience operating forklifts, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. As a Forklift Loader, you will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks carrying roofing panels, coils and other materials, organizing warehouse inventory, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods.
Shift Time: 2nd Shift 3- 11:30pmKey Responsibilities:
Safely operate forklifts to load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
Verify the accuracy of load orders and ensure proper materials handling to prevent damage.
Stack and organize products and materials safely and efficiently.
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by documenting material movements.
Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and organized, storing materials in designated areas.
Participate in regular housekeeping activities to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating forklifts and handling materials.
Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts and immediately report any maintenance or safety issues.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety instructions.
Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to a workplace safety culture.
Work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Identify and report any damaged materials to the supervisor.
Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding any issues or concerns.
Assist with bi-annual plant inventories.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Scan all order being loaded on delivery trucks.
Strong knowledge of forklift operation and material handling procedures.
Ability to read and understand load orders and inventory documents.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy materials.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
Must understand truck mapping to ensure trucks are loaded correctly, weight distributed evenly, and do not exceed truck weight capacity.
