Shift: Monday-Friday 6am-8am, 3pm-5pm

Position:
Van Driver

• Drives Lifeworks van to transport individuals from homes to worksites. Operates vehicle in a safe and legal manner, adhering to all laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Lifeworks policies and procedures. Maintains vehicle with respect to safety and cleanliness. Reports vehicle and maintenance needs to supervisor or designee as soon as possible.
• Supervises and ensures the safety of all individuals transported in assigned vehicles.
• Reports concerns or issues regarding individuals on the vehicle to supervisor or designee as soon as possible.
• Ensures that all passengers utilize seat belts while being transported.
• Secures passengers' wheelchairs to safety restraints to stabilize wheelchairs during trips.
• Completes necessary written documentation timely and completely, including, but not limited to: weekly time sheet (Payroll System), monthly vehicle maintenance report, monthly individual attendance report, and significant incident/accident reports as necessary.
• Assists passengers into and out of the vehicle as needed.
• Maintains effective communication with other staff, families, and residential staff of individuals being transported.
• Attends transportation meetings and in-service trainings necessary for the driver position. Complies with Lifeworks guidelines regarding time off notification and approval for overtime.
• Other duties and/or assignments as needed by the company.

• High school diploma or GED; one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to pass fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC and driving background checks.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Experience driving vans is a plus and encouraged to apply.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
