Overview

Maine Recycling Corporation (MRC) is seeking a skilled and reliable Class A CDL Drop & Hook Truck Driver with a clean driving record to join our team. As a CDL Class A Drop & Hook Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transporting of trailers between designated locations, dropping off full trailers and hooking up to empty or loaded ones as directed.

When not performing Drop & Hook Truck Driver tasks, this individual will have additional duties as MRC's Yard Truck Operator. Dump trailer and front-end loader experience is a plus. The work week is Monday through Friday, no weekends or overnights required.

Position Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Positive Attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Strong understanding of safe driving practices.
  • Team player who follows MRC policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate information effectively.
Drop & Hook Truck Driver Responsibilities
  • Transporting of trailers between designated locations, dropping off full trailers and hooking up to empty or loaded ones as directed.
  • Conduct routine vehicle and pre-trip inspections.
  • Ensure that all paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Communicate regularly with MRC's Driver Manager regarding schedules and load status.
Yard Truck Operator Responsibilities
  • Moving trucks and trailers in and out of docks for loading and unloading.
  • Coordinate with production supervision to move trailers from one location to another according to dock assignments.
  • Move trailers from dock to dock as needed to complete the unloading process which includes dropping and hooking trailers.
  • Ensure that trailers wheels are blocked to prevent the trailer from rolling.
  • Move trailers for receiving when needed.
  • Ensure trailer doors are closed while not in the dock.
