Bus/Van Monitor (Year Round) Reports to
Director of Transportation
Qualifications- Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students
- Ability to read and write, to understand verbal instructions, and to communicate with fellow employees, students, and Director of Transportation
- Attend driver training days and mandatory in‑service meetings
- To assist the bus driver in providing safe transportation for students by maintaining order on a school bus or van by directly supporting individual children as needed
- Assists the driver in maintaining appropriate student conduct on the bus or van
- Assists young or disabled students with getting on and off the bus or van; operates chair lift; assists students in crossing streets; assist with seat belts and harnesses where appropriate
- Assures that students get on and off the bus or van in an orderly fashion
- Assists driver with disciplinary problems
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities that may be assigned

Terms of EmploymentHourly, year round and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board.
