School Social Worker - MSAD #41
Serving Schools invites qualified and compassionate School Social Workers to support the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students. The role collaborates with students, families, staff, and community agencies to promote student success, address barriers to learning, and support a safe and inclusive school environment.
Employment Options- School-Employed Position:
Full-time employment with the school/district, including benefits in accordance with district policies and applicable contract agreements. - Independent Contractor (Per Diem):
Contracted services provided on a per-diem basis. Scheduling and compensation are outlined in a professional services agreement. Independent contractors are responsible for their own benefits and taxes.

Responsibilities- Provide individual counseling to students addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs based on their IEPs.
- Participate in and contribute to IEP, 504, MTSS, and student support team meetings as appropriate.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, counselors, and support staff.
- Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community agencies.
- Assist with behavioral interventions and restorative practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Support school-wide social-emotional and wellness initiatives.
- Current State of Maine licensure (LMSW or LCSW preferred).
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or clinical setting.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and school-based mental health supports preferred.
