Propane Service Technician - $3,000 Sign on Bonus

Join Haffner's as a Propane Service Technician. This position is eligible for a $3,000 sign‑on bonus. Hourly pay is based on experience, knowledge, and job‑related qualifications.

Propane Service Technicians are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial heating systems, as well as related tanks and piping.

• Installs, maintains, and repairs tanks, piping, heating equipment, and appliances at commercial and residential customer sites.
• Communicates with dispatchers in a timely manner, maintaining a schedule and properly notifying customers of any delays.
• Follows a standardized format for customer repair visits, documenting all installed equipment and taking necessary measurements.
• Diagnoses diverse electrical and mechanical service issues.
• Explains the diagnosed issue and resolution in concise terms to the customer.
• Communicates company pricing and services to customers.
• Repairs by obtaining needed replacement parts, calibrating the system to manufacturer’s recommendations, and thoroughly testing components.
• Identifies and reports opportunities for additional business (new systems, service contracts, additional services).
• Obtains customer signature and correct information, including email address, at the end of the visit.
• Notifies dispatchers of any issues that require repair or compromise delivery or service.
• Maintains proper stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
• Maintains company vehicle, including cleaning, refueling, reporting mechanical issues, and submitting monthly vehicle inspection forms.
• Participates in company‑provided training on latest industry technologies.
• Executes other tasks assigned by the Propane Service Manager.

• A minimum of three years of experience in propane service (waived for trainees).
• Appropriate licensing, including NH Gas Fitter License (with Service Technician endorsement), NH Master Plumber License, MA LP Installer, MA Master Plumber License, ME Propane and Natural Gas Technician (all waived for trainees; trainees must obtain proper credentials).
• Clean MA/NH/ME driving record.
• Understanding of blueprints, plans, and manuals.
• Ability to pass company‑provided drug test, alcohol test, and physical exam.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, overtime, and on‑call shifts.

This is an hourly, non‑exempt position. Electronic timekeeping of all hours worked is required.

Hourly pay ranges from $28.00 to $40.00, depending on experience, knowledge, and qualifications.
