We are seeking a Marine Electrician for our boat yard in Southwest Harbor, Maine.

Essential Duties
  • Install wiring, fixtures, and equipment for electrical systems such as radar, GPS, antennas, motors, pumps, and switches.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Wire and connect electrical, electronic, and communication systems, complete circuitry, and test systems using voltmeters and other electrical testing equipment.
  • Drill holes in bulkheads and cabins to mount panels and fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot system problems and provide creative solutions for complex system installations.
  • Interpret work orders and plan projects accordingly.
  • Develop material lists for project completion.
  • Possibly interact with clients, requiring good customer service skills.
  • Follow safety rules and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Perform all work to Hinckley's quality standards.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Experience as a marine electrician required.
  • ABYC Certification preferred.
  • Vocational/technical school certification, boat building, military trade, high school diploma, or GED.
  • Knowledge of power and hand tools, marine electronic test equipment.
