SCHOOL NUTRITION PROGRAM KITCHEN MANAGER - Grade School

Winthrop School Nutrition Services is seeking a qualified candidate for a Kitchen Manager position at Winthrop Grade School.

This is a school year position for 8 hours per workday (6:15 AM – 2:15 PM) with the option to work the Summer Program. Pay is commensurate with kitchen experience, per the Bargaining Unit Agreement. Must have a Criminal History Record Check certificate within 30 days of hire. Serv Safe certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Previous School Nutrition Experience Is Preferred.

• Overseeing staff
• Managing day-to-day operations
• Ordering products
• Inventory control
• Strong organizational, computer, and customer service skills

• Foods and their preparation
• Operation and care of kitchen equipment
• Nutritional values
• Local and state health, sanitation, and food safety requirements
• Ability to work well with co‑workers, students, and staff

• In sufficiently good physical condition to permit working long hours while standing
• Able to lift at least 40 lbs
• Able to read and prepare foods from institutional recipes
• Able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
• Strong math skills
• Flexible to change and growth
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
