Reports to: Kitchen Manager
Position Summary: To produce and serve nutritious and visually appealing meals in a safe and sanitary manner
Qualifications- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) or ability to attain
- Basic math, reading and communication skills
- Ability to work as a productive member of a team
- Ability to safely use all necessary kitchen equipment
- Ability to learn and follow all federal, state and local rules/regulations in relation to the School Nutrition Program
- Assists with food preparation, serving, cooking, and baking
- Assists in cleaning the kitchen and serving areas
- Provides excellent customer service to students and staff
- Maintains daily/weekly employee timesheet
- Adheres to all district policies and procedures
- Consults with the Kitchen Manager when questions arise
- Completes additional duties as assigned

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, climb stairs, lift (ranging from 25-60lbs), bend, pull, push, walk, kneel, crouch, and perform other physical tasks that may be required from time to time.
The employee must have the ability to stand for periods as long as 6 hours or more on a cement/tile kitchen floor. The employee must have the ability to work in a hot, humid environment.
Hourly, work year and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board.
EvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation.
