- Typically has the education associated with a master’s degree in ecology or a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical skills in data management, particularly Program R and Microsoft Excel, including using code to proof and manage data
- Ability to work independently on wildlife data collection, particularly bird banding, mist netting, and vegetation surveying
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
- Demonstrated success publishing manuscripts and delivering presentations
- Ability to travel, normally requiring a Maine driver’s license.
- Experience with relevant data sets, databases, and field data collection methods
- Experience with relevant ecosystems in the northeast region
- Permit or subpermit for wild bird banding from U.S. Geological Survey or ability to qualify
