Location: Orono

The purpose of this position is to coordinate education research for the RiSE Center, including University level research and evaluation and K-12 classrooms as part of grant work. The Research and Evaluation Coordinator works with the RiSE Research Committee to decide which new research and evaluation projects will be part of RiSE work and helps prepare proposals and other documentation for these projects.

The Research and Evaluation Coordinator takes the lead in obtaining Institutional Review Board approval for studies involving human subjects that are part of major RiSE research projects and manages data from these projects. The Research and Evaluation Coordinator also coordinates internal evaluative research and manages evaluative data collection and communication and reporting to inform project implementation, validate project effectiveness and drive professional learning initiatives across various grants and projects  RiSE Research and Evaluation Coordinator serves as a member of the RiSE Executive Committee and chairs the RiSE Research Committee.

Typical hiring range for this soft-money position is $64,000 to $66,500 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications Required
  • Master's degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) discipline or in STEM education, or equivalent.
  • Experience conducting discipline-based education research.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred
  • PhD degree in STEM Education or equivalent.
  • Strong research record, including publications.
  • Experience with human subjects research and/or coordinating Institutional Review Board (IRB) compliance.
  • Experience in coordinating research partnerships.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
