A rewarding opportunity exists for a registered nurse with operating room expertise to provide comprehensive perioperative care in a critical access hospital setting. This contract role is based in Milbridge, ME, at a community hospital renowned for its patient-centered approach and diverse surgical specialties. The ideal candidate will be proficient in circulating, scrubbing, and post-anesthesia care phase 1 recovery, delivering safe and effective care across perioperative phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care in the operating room, including circulating and scrubbing duties.
- Manage Phase 1 recovery in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate closely with the perioperative team to facilitate smooth surgical procedures.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the hospital's mission, vision, and values.
- Respond to on-call situations with a required 45-minute arrival time.
- Support a broad range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, podiatry, OB-GYN, pain management, urology, and endoscopy.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure with proven experience in perioperative nursing.
- Skilled in scrubbing, circulating, and PACU Phase 1 recovery.
- Experience working in a critical access hospital operating room environment is highly valued.
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) credential preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
