Med/Surg RN – Days – Lincoln, ME

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: 12-Hour Days (07:00 – 19:00) | 36 Hours Guaranteed

Base Rate: Standard (Urgent Fill)

Job Summary

A critical access facility located in Lincoln, Maine, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical/Surgical RN for an immediate, urgent need. This role requires a versatile nurse capable of providing high-quality care to a diverse adult population in a community hospital setting. You will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, developing care plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments and re-assessments for adult and geriatric patients.
  • Care Planning: Develop and implement plans of care based on patient needs and physician orders, ensuring timely execution of nursing actions.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications accurately utilizing the "five rights" and verify patient response to treatments.
  • Communication & Coordination: Communicate patient status changes to the healthcare team, participate in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, and conduct bedside rounding with hospitalists and case managers.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Discharge Planning: Complete discharge assessments and ensure patients and families understand their follow-up plan.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience is required.
  • Licensure: Active Maine (ME) State RN License or Compact License.
  • Certifications: * BLS/BCLS (American Heart Association) – Required.
    • ACLS – Preferred.
  • Compliance: Strict immunization requirements, including 2-step PPD, MMR, and Varicella titers/documentation. HepB declination is the only declination accepted.
  • Skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Unit & Facility Details
  • Environment: 0–49 bed community hospital; ability to lift up to 30 lbs and assist with patient transfers is required.
  • Location: 7 Transalpine Road, Lincoln, ME 04457.
  • Urgency: Normal position urgency, but requires prompt reporting to Human Resources on Day 1 for onboarding.
