Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Nights | Contract
We are seeking experienced and motivated Emergency Room Registered Nurses (ER RNs) for a 13-week night-shift contract assignment . This opportunity is ideal for adaptable nurses with strong critical-thinking skills who thrive in fast-paced emergency care environments and are comfortable caring for patients across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate patient assessments
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care based on patient needs and provider orders
- Deliver safe, effective emergency nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing practice standards
- Administer medications using the “five rights” and evaluate patient responses
- Communicate patient status, care plans, and changes effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Accurately document all patient care activities per regulatory and organizational standards
- Assist with discharge planning, patient/family education, and follow-up calls
- Participate in bedside rounding, multidisciplinary team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain a safe, well-organized clinical environment
- Respond appropriately to emergency and disaster situations as required
Required Qualifications:
- Active Maine RN license or compact RN license
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience
- Strong assessment, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-acuity setting
Certifications:
- BLS (required)
- ACLS (preferred)
Health & Compliance Requirements:
- Required immunizations and health screenings per facility policy
- Flu vaccination required during flu season
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 30 lbs), and assist with patient transport
- Visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assess patient needs
- Potential exposure to infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and cleaning chemicals
Additional Information:
- Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts within a 12-week period
- Travelers report to Human Resources on Day 1 for onboarding
