Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Manufacturing Production
Position Summary
Maintains inventory control of all machine and assembly shop tools; requisitions parts as necessary. Maintains control of tool room inventory. Issues and receives tools from shop employees. Maintains records of outgoing and incoming tools. Maintains tools in good working condition and repairs tools as necessary or arranges for repair. Keeps tool room organized and maintains good housekeeping.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Organize all tooling with locations in ERP system
- Maintain a complete list of all company and customer owned tools, including tooling located at outside vendors
- Tracking of inventory levels of all consumable items such as drill bits, countersink cutters, sanding disks, etc.
- Setup shelving and pallet racking as needed
- Move heavy equipment and large crates using a forklift
- Check tools out to the shop floor and back into the tool crib as needed
- Package tools to be sent to outside vendors
- Setup locations in the ERP system for new and existing mylars
- Audit inventory of tools and mylars for proper locations and any obvious damage
- Other duties as assigned - this may also include grinding work.
- Experience and
Education: - 1-2 years of relevant experience
- High school degree or equivalent, plus advanced training
- Technical
Skills: - Excellent attention to detail
- Able to read and interpret paperwork and specifications
- Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
- Problem solving abilities
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player
- Understand and obey safety requirements
- Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs or more
- Frequently required to handle; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl
- Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
