Job SummaryAs an Awlgrip Technician, you’ll perform basic boat preparation for painting, as well as spray finish coats to the desired thickness. Additionally, you’ll produce high-quality finishes, blend and repair surfaces. Responsibilities- Surface Preparation:
Tape or protect surrounding surfaces from overspray during painting process. Clean, sand, and smooth surfaces using appropriate tools. Perform long boarding using fairing compounds. - Maintenance:
Set up and dismantle staging. Clean boats and work area daily. - Administrative:
Process billing and materials used during project. Communicate with customers when needed. Perform additional duties assigned to support production goals. - Quality Assurance:
Inspect painted surfaces for quality and consistency. Perform all work to the Hinckley Company Standards. - Safety Compliance:
Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. - Other:
All duties as assigned.
- Experience:
Minimum two (2) years of experience in auto body or marine paint applications. - Physical Requirements:
Lift and carry over 25 lbs. and up to 60 lbs. on a frequent basis. - Certifications:
Vocational, high school diploma, or General Equivalency Degree (GED) required. - Pre-Employment:
All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.
- Familiarity with Awlgrip or similar marine coating systems.
- Proficient in sanding, masking, and painting techniques.
- Comfortable using pneumatic tools and spray equipment.
- Basic math and computer skills for documentation and billing.
