The CNC I Operator is responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specification. This role supports production schedules while maintaining quality, accuracy, and proper documentation. Job Specifications Summary of Responsibilities- Operate CNC machines to produce parts according to specifications
- Review job specifications, machining sequences, and blueprints prior to operation
- Measure parts for conformance using micrometers, calipers, functional gauges, and blueprints
- Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions, worn tools, or production issues
- Work to assigned production schedules
- Analyze production difficulties and report issues to CNC Specialist or Production Supervisor
- Maintain required documentation including production logs and scrap tickets
- Notify CNC Specialist II, CNC Specialist III, or Supervisor upon job completion or when discrepancies occur
