Location DescriptionMichael Foods, Inc. located in Mars Hill, Maine. Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility has over 200 incredible team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product.
ResponsibilitiesJob Summary: This position is responsible for receiving and unloading of all incoming raw potatoes. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at allosm imes as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
- Setup, operate, and maintain potato unloading equipment.
- Ensure that the proper potato variety and amount are sent to the correct bin.
- Perform visual inspections & pre‑operational audits on unloading equipment and storage bins as per departmental procedures.
- Minimize recovery loss during the uiding process and accurately record losses on paperwork.
- Understand the truck delivery schedule and communicate any schedule problems.
- Carry out pre‑dump Orientations preceded on all potato loads and totes.
- Perform all tests required for Raw Receiving and accurately fill out paperwork.
- Ensure proper removal of foreign material during the unloading process and communicate unusual foreign material findings to supervisor, including glass, metal, brittle materials, excessive amounts of corn cobs or rocks, etc., and taking the appropriate action to segregate the affected potatoes and prevent from entering the plant.
- Effectively communicate relevant information to fellow employees on the shift and to on‑coming employees at shift change.
- General cleaning of equipment and наставление good housekeeping in the raw receiving area.
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affectずfood safety, food quality or personnel safety.=re> **"
