School Custodian

40 Hours Per Week | Typically 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Jefferson Village School is a small, close‑knit K–8 community school committed to providing a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for students. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Custodian to ensure our campus is clean, safe, and well‑maintained for our 200+ students and the staff who serve them.

Building Principal

The School Custodian plays an essential role in maintaining a safe, healthy, and welcoming learning environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently while supporting the overall needs of the school community.

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors
• Empty trash; replenish supplies
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and cleaning protocols
• Prepares school for special events

• The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: lifting (50 lbs), carrying, pushing and/or pulling, using ladders when appropriate, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling in order to carry out the objectives of the position.
• Participates in and documents "certification of hazard equipment" training for proper use of equipment

• CHRC approval required
• Maintain all necessary training requirements
• Previous custodial or facilities experience preferred
• Dependable, self‑motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
