Position Summary Position is responsible for the cleanliness of assigned areas, offices, building facilities or other residential space associated with a business unit for WashU.
Responsibilities- Cleans areas such as entryways, restrooms, and common areas, including stairwells, hallways, laundry areas, etc. Cleans occupied or vacant residential units, dining facilities or other building space as determined by your business unit.
- Dusts, sweeps, mops, vacuums, wipes down flat surfaces, cleans glass, takes out trash, replaces lines or other supplies, and completes other custodial/housekeeping duties as assigned. Frequency of housekeeping duties may also fluctuate with the academic year.
- Communicates daily with housekeeping supervisor to relay any issues associated with an assignment, a building or space, occupant concerns, or other building needs including supplies and equipment.
- Reports noticeable maintenance issues to your immediate supervisor or other designated contact; reports any suspicious person to Campus Police; follow the rules and regulations of WashU in St. Louis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Some exposure to dust/allergens, and use of various cleaning agents/chemicals. Must be physically fit and capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs to waist level.
- Frequently bends, kneels and squares throughout the day. Position requires candidates to be on their feet most of the day.
- Will be working in scattered site off-campus buildings.
- Occasional seasonal weekend shifts may be required.
