Overview
We are seeking a business-minded Programmer/Configurator Analyst who is creative, collaborative and committed. This role applies programming principles and logical problem-solving to develop and maintain product models within our Enterprise Product Configurator (Hussey Connects) and to extend functionality and automation across core enterprise systems (IFS). It requires a balanced background with technical expertise and strong business acumen, proven problem-solving abilities, and effective interpersonal skills.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for learning Hussey products and for working with the engineering and technical data required to support production.
The candidate should be comfortable working in a close-knit, fast-paced team environment with a strong customer focus—serving both internal and external customers. A willingness to step outside traditional role boundaries to get the job done, while embracing new ideas that support and advance a lean culture, is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities- Product Development in Hussey
19s Enterprise Configure Price Quote Software:
Obtain specifications by interfacing with key stakeholders to gather product rules and detailed specifications for product part structures and routings. - Develop Hussey Connects User Interface:
Build user interfaces for Hussey products in the Configurator based on product rules and Hussey business processes, including logic that builds Quotes, Orders, Change Orders documents in Connects. - Develop Product Skeleton:
Build configuration rules and part skeleton based on product specifications provided by engineering in the configurator using programming principles and logic. - Publish and Deployment:
Adhere to established validation and deployment procedures, including after-hours support and team collaboration. - Troubleshooting:
Use the Sysaid ticketing system to quickly troubleshoot problems identified by stakeholders.
Researches and analyzes business processes, data, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement. Quickly and accurately evaluates complex problems to recommend and implement effective solutions. Collaborates with developers to deliver robust, agile solutions that improve efficiency and align with business needs. Performs functional and integrated testing to validate solutions against real-world user workflows.
Software DevelopmentModify and extend existing enterprise ERP and CPQ systems through enhancements, customizations, and automation. Work cross-functionally with technical and business partners to deliver complete, end-to-end solutions. Demonstrates understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and manages solutions from design through development, testing, deployment, and release/change management. Proactively support business deployments through clear communication and user training. Apply a disciplined, systematic approach to production changes with a focus on risk mitigation and system stability.
SystemManagement
Provide administration and configuration support for the enterprise ERP and CPQ systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and execute enterprise software upgrades throughout the full system lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives and minimal disruption to operations.
Project Coordination & PlanningSupport project planning and execution by coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and working with cross-functional business teams to prioritize work and meet agreed-upon timelines.
Competencies- Programming
Experience:
Foundational programming experience with a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and apply new programming languages and concepts. - Business Applications:
Experience using ERP workflows (manufacturing, finance, supply chain, HR/payroll) and with Enterprise CPQ software. - Proven Technical Aptitude and
Experience:
Experience in a technical role with the ability to learn technical software and systems. - Communication
Skills:
