Project Manager — Digital Solutions (Compotech Inc.)
Location: On-site (Bangor/Brewer/Orono, ME)
Clearance: Active Secret preferred, or the ability to acquire one • U.S. Person required (ITAR/Export)
Employment Type: Full-time
Travel: ~10-25% to labs, user sites, and exercises
Reports to: Director, Digital Solutions
Compotech’s Digital Solutions Team builds mission-grade software, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning solutions for national security and critical industries. We partner with DoD stakeholders to deliver operational outcomes fast.
Role OverviewOwn the day-to-day planning and delivery of software and AI/ML projects scope, schedule, budget, risk, resources, and stakeholder alignment. You’ll run cross-functional execution (engineering, ML, Dev Sec Ops , UX, test) from kickoff through acceptance and invoicing, ensuring compliance (RMF/ATO), high reliability, and crisp comms to internal leaders and DoD partners.
What You’ll Do- Pre-Award Planning: For pre-award opportunities, develop project schedules and cost estimates (ROM/baseline) for development contracts; coordinate the technical volume and contribute to the overall contract submission alongside capture/proposal leads.
- Plan & Execute: Drive project charters, WBS, schedules, and baselines; manage dependencies, critical path, and change control.
- Cadence & Visibility: Run standups, sprint reviews, and weekly ops reviews; maintain logs; create and publish clear status on scope/schedule/budget/risks via dashboards.
- Risk & Quality: Lead risk identification/mitigation, RCAs/post-mortems, acceptance criteria, and readiness gates; coordinate test/validation and reliability targets (SLOs).
- Budget & Contracts: Track burn, EAC/ETC, and materials; coordinate SOWs, POP changes, CDRLs, deliverables, and vendor/sub performance.
- Security & Compliance: Orchestrate RMF/ATO artifacts with ISSM/ISSO; align to NIST 800-53/171, IL2–IL6 hosting, SBOMs, and secure SDLC checkpoints.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain tight communication with PMs/KO reps/TPOCs; prep briefs, demos, and orals; capture and drive customer feedback into the backlog.
- Tooling & Reporting: Standardize Dev Ops workflows, reporting, and dashboards; ensure data hygiene and metrics for predictability using tools such as Microsoft Project and Power BI.
- Platform Coordination:
Compotech Internal: Adopt and optimize platform and systems, pivot if and when appropriate. - Palantir Foundry (future): Coordinate work that touches Ontology, OSDK, Workshop/Slate/Maven
; align object models, pipelines, and delivery milestones with engineering. - Anduril Lattice (future): Coordinate integrations to Lattice (APIs/SDKs, data feeds, mission services); schedule adapter work, auth
N/Z, and low-latency interop milestones across sensors/effectors and C2 workflows. - Delivery Readiness: Drive fielding plans, training, documentation, and handoffs to support/operations.
- Resourcing: Collaborate with line managers to forecast demand and secure capacity; onboard personnel and manage access.
- 5+ years managing projects (software preferably) (multi-team, multi-release)
- 2+ years working data/AI/ML or platform-heavy environments (or the ability to clearly communicate your understanding of AI/ML stacks and tools).
- Strong command of agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban), backlog management, estimation, dependency/risk control, and change management.
- Experience in Dev Sec Ops environments (CI/CD, IaC, SBOMs) and familiarity with cloud/on-prem (AWS Gov Cloud/Azure Government/GCC High).
- Working knowledge of RMF/ATO
, NIST 800-53/171, IL levels, and secure SDLC checkpoints. - Fluency with Microsoft 365; solid financial tracking (burn, EAC/ETC) and vendor/SOW coordination.
- Excellent written/oral communication; able to translate technical detail into executive-ready updates and customer-facing briefs.
- DoD/IC program experience; prior work with PEOs/DEVCOM/CDAO/DIU/AFWERX.
- Exposure to Palantir Foundry (Ontology/OSDK/Workshop/Slate/Maven) and/or Anduril Lattice program delivery.
- Familiarity with geospatial/time-series analytics, test planning for ML systems, and reliability/SRE practices.
- Certifications:
PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, ITIL, or similar.
