As a Senior Compensation Consultant, you will apply deep compensation expertise, while partnering with senior business and HR leaders, to the design and execution of enterprise-wide compensation programs. You will tackle complex pay models—spanning base salary, variable incentives, and equity awards—by evaluating multifaceted data and advising on market competitiveness, internal equity, and regulatory compliance. You will influence policy, guide development of new programs and practices, and lead critical projects that shape organizational decisions and talent outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Partners with Compensation and HR team members, as well as other stakeholders, to deliver compensation programs and services to the business.
  • Serves as internal compensation subject matter expert. Educates and informs partners about Tyler compensation policies, programs, and practices and makes recommendations to improve their value and effectiveness.
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of work related to the administration of compensation programs. These may include, but are not limited to, Tyler’s executive compensation and equity award programs, sales compensation programs, global compensation, annual salary review program, and variable pay programs.
  • Responsible for leading and/or supporting the execution of compensation-related initiatives such as salary structure modifications, business integrations and re-organizations, cost modeling, and employee impact analyses, and partners with HR team members and stakeholders to implement approved changes.
  • Supports the Sr. Director, Compensation with research, analysis, design work, modeling, data visualization, presentations, and reporting of compensation programs and initiatives, such as executive compensation and pay equity.
  • Supports the preparation of Compensation Discussion & Analysis (CD&A) and other required disclosures for the annual proxy statement.
  • Support the Board of Directors’ Compensation Committee by preparing decks, summarizing performance metrics, and responding to committee inquiries
  • Supports sales leaders with sales compensation analyses and plan design improvements.
  • Jointly responsible for survey submissions and compensation studies.
  • Evaluates jobs for grade placement and/or grade level changes.
  • Jointly responsible for the maintenance of Tyler’s compensation-related technology solutions and subscriptions (e.g., Ulti Pro, Market Pay, ERI, and various survey sources).
  • Leads or supports the development of compensation communications, tools, and job aids.
  • Keeps current on regulatory changes and makes recommendations for improvements to programs and practices.
  • Evaluates compensation processes and makes recommendations for streamlining and simplifying administration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business with 8+ years of progressive responsibility in compensation or the equivalent
  • In-depth, multi-disciplinary knowledge of compensation theories and their practical applications and a demonstrated ability to use this knowledge to develop solutions to address complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Experience in executive compensation, sales compensation, variable pay programs, and related regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with partners to develop and deliver business-driven compensation services and solutions.
  • Advanced spreadsheet and database skills
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, inform and influence while working well with others in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in broad-based compensation and global compensation
  • An understanding of data science principles and experience applying them to compensation programs
  • Experience in the tech industry
