If you are interested in learning about almost every aspect of working in hospitality, our Cabin Steward position is for you! Cabin Stewards are responsible for meeting & greeting newly arrived guests, assisting them with luggage, and providing an orientation to the resort’s property and amenities.
In addition, Cabin Stewards provide daily cottage services including laying fires, filling wood boxes, delivering fresh ice and glassware, cleaning cottage porches, and offering light maintenance services. They interact with all levels of resort management, as well as most other department employees, giving an opportunity to gain real insight into the operation of Maine’s premiere lakeside Full American Plan resort.
Full-time. Three shifts: 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, or 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Compensation$16.50 – $17.50 per hour, depending on experience, plus 7% of wages incentive payment.

Job DescriptionBellmen/Valets/Cabin Stewards are responsible for greeting guests, assisting with moving luggage, orienting guests to accommodations and property, and providing light maintenance and deliveries of messages, packages, faxes, etc. This position requires an outgoing personality, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work without constant direct supervision. Candidates must be out‑of‑the‑box thinkers, able to learn quickly, and comfortable standing for long periods while enjoying interactions with guests under the pines along the shores of beautiful Sebago Lake.
You will be an ambassador, problem‑solver, smiling face, and answer center for guests. You will forge bonds through frequent daily interactions.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance with a properly cleaned uniform.
- Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest’s name when possible.
- Engage guests in conversation and actively orient them to the property, amenities, and experiences.
- Thank guests with genuine appreciation and bid them a fond farewell at departure.
- Actively listen to and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests; anticipate guest service needs.
- Lift and move guest luggage, hotel supplies, heavy boxes, and maintenance equipment that can weigh more than 50 pounds.
- Place luggage in appropriate areas in guest accommodations or luggage storage areas, per property specifications or guest requests; assist with unloading and loading luggage from vehicles.
- Offer to park cars for guests or, if requested, according to property procedures; return car keys to the designated area assigned at each property.
- Correctly set up accommodations according to daily directions and property procedures.
- Use discretion to avoid disturbing guests in rooms or public spaces; understand how all systems (climate control, fireplaces, fans, lighting) operate and explain them to guests.
- Secure rental keys for any room or supply closet, respecting guests’ privacy and property.
- Answer basic questions about the property, activities, etc., or refer guests to appropriate staff.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure guests’ needs are continually met; inform front desk staff of any special needs so notes can be kept for future visits.
- Handle and communicate guest requests, special needs, room or public space maintenance issues, and complaints professionally.
- Perform light maintenance, grounds‑keeping, and landscaping tasks as assigned or as needed.
- Label and submit all lost and found items per property procedures.
- Follow personal sanitation, PPE protocols, and handle unsanitary items and bodily fluids appropriately to prevent injury.
