Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Position Overview:

MSAD #75 is seeking a passionate and dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team. The BCBA will work collaboratively with students, teachers, administrators, and parents to provide evidence-based behavior analysis services that support students with behavioral challenges and help improve social, emotional, and academic outcomes. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of Mt.

Ararat Middle and High School students by promoting positive behavioral change within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Behavioral Assessments:

• Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the causes and functions of challenging behaviors.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to student behavior.
• Develop, train and support implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment results.

Behavioral Intervention:

• Use evidence-based strategies to promote desired behaviors and reduce problematic behaviors.
• Monitor and modify interventions as needed, based on student progress and response to treatment.

Collaboration and Training:

• Work closely with teachers, special education staff, counselors, and other professionals to integrate behavior interventions into the classroom and school environment.
• Provide ongoing consultation and support to school staff in implementing behavior management strategies.
• Train and mentor staff in behavior analysis techniques and promote best practices in behavioral interventions.

Parent and Caregiver Support:

• Collaborate with parents and caregivers to share progress, provide behavioral strategies, and offer support for the generalization of skills outside the school environment.
• Conduct meetings with parents to review behavioral data, intervention plans, and progress updates.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation of behavior intervention plans, assessment results, progress notes, and data collection.
• Generate reports and provide regular updates on student progress for school records and to inform individualized education plan (IEP) meetings.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
• Certification:
• Valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
• Valid State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization.

• Experience:
• Experience with students with autism spectrum disorders, emotional disabilities, or other behavioral challenges.
• Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs and collaborating with school teams.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of behavior analysis principles and evidence-based interventions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with data collection, analysis, and progress monitoring.
• Ability to work with students, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
