The Phlebotomist I (Traveler) / Patient Services Representative (PSR) represents the face of the organization, providing high-quality patient interactions while performing blood specimen collection and processing. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to confidentiality, and flexibility to support multiple locations as business needs dictate.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established practices.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence and accuracy.
- Verify patient demographic information, initials, and signatures post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling.
- Maintain required records and documentation in compliance with established procedures.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment for patients and staff.
- Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence and patient-centered care.
- Travel to and support Patient Service Centers and in-office locations as required.
- Participate in training at various locations based on trainer availability.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Commitment to company policies and procedures, including dress code, employee health & safety, and guiding principles.
- Ability to make decisions using established procedures and sound judgment.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt quickly to change.
- Demonstrated superior customer focus and strong communication skills.
