Hancock Grammar School is a small, community‑focused elementary school located in beautiful coastal Maine. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with communication challenges and help them develop the skills needed for academic and social success.
Responsibilities- Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, families, and support staff.
- Work with students one‑on‑one and in small groups to improve language development, articulation, fluency, and social communication skills.
- Provide strategies and resources for teachers and families to support communication growth in the classroom and at home.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and progress reports in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with educators, special education staff, and administration to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Master's degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Maine state licensure (or eligibility for licensure).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred;
Clinical Fellows (CFs) are welcome to apply. - Experience working with school-aged children is a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A passion for working in a small, rural school setting with a close‑knit community.
- Small student caseload with the ability to build meaningful relationships.
