Job Overview

Apply for the Speech-Language Pathologist, Per Diem role at Central Maine Healthcare
. This position is located at Rumford Hospital’s Therapy Services team and offers flexible, PRN scheduling with supervision provided for clinical fellowship completion.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide intervention and consultations for patients demonstrating speech, language, communication, or swallowing delays.
  • Deliver treatment and instruction according to accepted principles and practices of Speech/Language Therapy.
  • Follow American Speech-Language-Hearing Association guidelines.
  • Provide care to inpatient adults, geriatrics, and outpatient pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Assist patients in achieving maximum performance and functional capacity while adapting to their limitations.
  • Collaborate with the health‑care team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain training and competency in regulatory requirements such as JCAHO, state, and federal standards.
  • Coordinate, delegate, and supervise responsibilities assigned to assistants and aides.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Current Maine licensure in Speech Pathology.
  • Eligibility for or possession of a Clinical Competence Certificate from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
