Starting Salary: $53,270.40 per year

Job OverviewThe core responsibility of this position is to facilitate a safe and secure environment by providing treatment program services individually and in group sessions within each housing unit within the Correctional Facility. This position requires interviewing and assessing inmates to determine risk; reviewing criminal history information and past incarceration records; evaluating the threat level to self or others; recommending housing placement;
reassessment of inmates during their incarceration; providing case management services; discharge planning; and the oversight of the employment status for those individuals placed in the St. Charles County Department of Corrections.
The Re‑Entry Coordinator will work in unison as a supportive sharing team and have the ability to make individual decisions. They are to be prepared to act as a member of the custody staff to ensure the safety of the public, staff, and inmates by possessing the necessary knowledge and physical abilities to work in the corrections environment.
ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibilities include assessing the needs of inmates, determining the level of care, ensuring inmates have access to services in a continuum of care by identifying, referring, and authorizing appropriate services, developing treatment plans, and facilitating inmate treatment when needed to address their problems/needs. Conductes inmate orientation on facility rules, programs, and expectations; oversees daily housing unit activities to promote accountability, participation in evidence‑based programming and successfully reentry into the community.
Creates and updates comprehensive treatment plans based on needs assessment information, guides positive decision making, recommends services, tracks behavior and program participation, and facilitates reentry, cognitive‑behavioral, vocational/educational programs as needed. Screens inmates with the LS/CMI Risk Assessment and other Risk/Need assessments for program placement and performs periodic review/reassessment of inmate status and modifies housing and program recommendations as needed by receiving information from records, custody, medical, and other sources.
Coordinates funding and authorizes inmate services; facilitates access to housing, employment, and medical resources; reviews program relocation requests; and responds to court, probation, and agency inquiries to support successful reentry and inmate management. Develops, implements, and conducts unit programming (social and rehabilitative) for offenders on designated caseloads. Reviews inmates’ risk assessments, conducts interviews with inmates, and determines risk priority to facilitate the delivery of jail‑based inmate programming.
Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence related to offender participation in facility programs. Evaluates inmate program involvement and refers inmates to additional inmate‑based programs as required. Handles informal program complaints at the housing unit level. Assists in the administration of offender orientation programs for the unit. Serves on various institutional committees concerning assigned caseload. Writes proposals for housing unit programs.
Implements court‑ordered services and assists with Pre‑Trial Risk assessments. Maintains regular contact with segregated inmates and coordinates with mental health staff to address concerns and support safe inmate management. Coordinates discharge planning and connect inmates to community‑based resources, treatment programs, and other services to reduce recidivism.
