Tax Preparer

Description

We are looking for a skilled Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in New Gloucester, Maine. In this role, you will assist with individual tax return preparation and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. This position requires a strong attention to detail!

Responsibilities:

- Prepare individual tax returns accurately and efficiently.

- Ensure all tax documents and filings comply with current regulations and standards.

- Review financial data and documentation to identify applicable deductions and credits.

- Communicate with clients to gather necessary tax-related information and address inquiries.

- Verify tax calculations and ensure proper documentation before submission.

- Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations to provide accurate services.

- Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.

- Address discrepancies or issues in tax filings promptly and professionally

Requirements

- Proven experience in individual tax preparation.

- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

- Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.

- Previous experience in a contract role is a plus.

- Familiarity with identifying deductions and credits for individual tax returns.
