ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL / ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

Position Overview
: MSAD 20 is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as Assistant Principal / Athletic Director at Fort Fairfield Middle High School. This full time, year-round administrative position serves to provide leadership and oversees all athletic and co-curricular programs for the middle high school.

Qualifications
:
Valid Maine Certification, Master s Degree preferred, as well as teaching and coaching experience, high school level preferred.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Works with students, staff, and parents to continuously improve all aspects of the learning environment.
  • Assists in financial planning that supports learning goals, uses resources efficiently, and incorporates alternate resources.
  • Provides coordination and oversight of athletic programs and extra-curricular activities, including the hiring, training, and supervision of coaches and advisors; budgeting; scheduling; and transportation.
  • Works with the districts facilities department in a collaborative way to address the needs of the district athletic program. Occasional grounds/facilities work may be required.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with school personnel, parents, students and the public; works collaboratively as a team member.
  • Takes the lead in disciplinary issues, hearings and investigations with students.
  • Participates in the recruiting, screening, hiring, assigning and training of school staff.
  • Other duties as assigned
