Job Title: Special Education Pre-K Ed Tech
Location: Whitefield Elementary School
Position Type: Full-Time (7.5 hours per day)
Position OverviewWhitefield Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Pre-K Educational Technician (Ed Tech) to support students in a self-contained preschool classroom. This position focuses on providing individualized (1:1) support to young learners with significant disabilities in a nurturing, inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 instructional and behavioral support to preschool students
- Assist the classroom teacher and special education staff in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Support students in developing communication, social, behavioral, and early learning skills.
- Assist with daily routines, transitions, and classroom activities in a self-contained preschool setting.
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Collect data and document student progress as directed by the teacher or special education team.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet student needs.
- CHRC & Ed Tech certification/authorization as required by the State of Maine.
- Experience working with young children and/or students with disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to supporting all learners.
- Ability to assist students with physical needs, including lifting, positioning, and mobility support when required.
